PowerPoint

Being a member of a Generation Y, PowerPoint has been an intregal part of my learning throughout secondary and tertiary study. PowerPoint is a relatively simple tool to use to present words and images in slide format. Having experienced them in tutorials and presentations, even using them myself, I have come to the realisation that they are rarely engaging and when used as the primary application for engaging students, tend to instead lose their interest.
When used as a supportive tool however, PowerPoints can add to a presentation and allow visual learners to see key ideas on the screen.
The use of PowerPoints by students would be effective in allowing them to present their ideas and learning visually with use of an offline ICT tool. Learning Managers may work with students or allow them to explore the different aspects and tools of the application.
